Arrowhead's English Language Learner program provides a flexible and integrated approach involving students, their families and all school staff members is utilized as the basis for English as a Second Language (ELL) instruction. Students are identified and progress monitored through the State's ACCESS testing and approaches are individualized based upon unique student needs and language proficiency levels. Content-based English as a Second Language is an approach incorporating instructional materials, learning tasks, and classroom techniques from academic content areas as the vehicle for developing language, content, cognitive and study skills. English is used as the medium of instruction.
