Arrowhead High School learning programs focus on individual interests and talents through a philosophy of readiness and student interest. Through ongoing assessment and planning, students are able to personalize their learning pathway through enrollment in wide range of course offerings and co-curricular programs. We are committed to programming that builds academic knowledge, skills, leadership and intellectual curiosity in all students.
-
Differentiated Instruction: Teachers will tailor their teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning needs of gifted students. This might include providing advanced reading materials, allowing for independent projects, or incorporating more complex problem-solving tasks.
-
Enrichment Programs: Offering co-curricular activities, workshops, or clubs designed for gifted students' areas of interest provides them with opportunities to explore, learn and grow.
-
Acceleration Options: Arrowhead provides opportunities for students to accelerate by taking honors, accelerated or advanced placement courses. This approach to advanced learning provides the chance for all students to be challenged and engaged in their studies.
-
Counseling Services: Arrowhead has counseling services that focus on the social and emotional well-being of gifted students in order to help them navigate the challenges of being intellectually advanced, including issues like perfectionism, peer relationships, and goal-setting.
By implementing a combination of these strategies, Arrowhead High School has an environment that nurtures and supports the unique needs of gifted and talented students.
Please see the Arrowhead Course Guide for more information.
For students enrolled in our public feeder schools, we do offer Early Enrollment to Arrowhead. Please visit the "Enroll" tab located under "Counseling".
