Heath Science Program Description - Click Here for More INFO
Health Science Coordinator: Brenda King (king@arrowheadschools.org)
The Health Science Experience at Arrowhead High School supports students who are interested in preparing for health and human services or medical careers. This comprehensive program provides a multitude of experiences to hear directly from healthcare professionals about the path to their career and observe responsibilities on the job site. Students will develop skills in critical thinking in a healthcare setting, practice analyzing current trends and problem solving through ethical issues, and develop skills that will foster professional relationships with coworkers and patients. A variety of experiential learning activities will allow students to develop specific skills in different service areas of health care (therapeutic, diagnostic, informatics).
This experience is enhanced by the potential to earn healthcare certifications such as nursing assistant or emergency medical technician.
