For Arrowhead High School, Emily Hendricks was an amazing golfer, earning All-Conference and All-State honors four years in a row. She was also named Team Captain. During her senior year in 1999, Emily was a medalist at all five invitationals for the Warhawks and she led the Conference league tournament, shooting an outstanding 5-over par round of 77. This was the third straight year she dominated the Classic 8. The team also captured its third straight Conference crown that year. At State her senior year, Emily tied for third overall with a 36-hole score of 157. This was her third time placing in the Top 6 at State.
"She's always ready and doesn't shy away from the competition,"
said Emily’s coach Maureen Rice-Mooney. “She's just outstanding,
works extremely hard, and keeps getting better."
In addition to golf, Emily played softball, hockey and basketball for the Warhawks. As the starting short stop, she was a Captain for the softball team.
After high school, Emily took her golf clubs to the University of Alabama where she received a full scholarship. She transferred after one year to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Playing for the Badgers, Hendricks shot a 141 in 36 holes at the Legends Shootout in Franklin, Ind. At that same course, she shot a 215 in 54 holes, just 2 strokes shy of tying the record.
Emily served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard - Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) Air Traffic Control. She currently is working for the Department of Defense as an Air Traffic Controller and Terminal Procedures Specialist. Emily has a 5-year-old son named Reid.
