Hall of Fame

While in high school at D.C. Everest, Dave earned top 10% academic honors in his graduating class. He was a three sport Varsity letter winner in football, basketball and baseball.

For over 30 years, Dave served as a mainstay in Arrowhead’s highly recognized Mathematics department. He also has served as an Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach for a total of 34 years to date. He first served as the Freshmen boys’ coach for 2 years, and then a JV boys’ coach for 3 years under then Head Coaches Greg Smith and Ken Hady.

Dave then moved to serve as the Varsity Boys’ Assistant Coach for a total of 29 years, with the last 24 years serving under Hall of Fame Coach Craig Haase.

The power and influence of an accomplished assistant coach cannot be overstated. Dave served as a mentor to three head coaches at Arrowhead for 34 years and dedicated his entire teaching career to bringing mathematics to life for thousands of students. Dave worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make Arrowhead’s mission come to life.

During Dave’s time as a teacher at Arrowhead and after retirement, he has mentored athletes in Mathematics to support their academic growth. He has worked with students across a variety of course areas to help students develop a better understanding of these topics with the goal of helping them achieve success in the classroom.

Dave has also spent countless hours working with basketball players in an effort to help them develop better shooting skills. He has used his incredible background knowledge to help improve players free throw shooting specifically, and has impacted numerous athletes in this area during his time at Arrowhead.
The success of our Boys’ Basketball teams over the last three decades could not have happened without Dave Conway’s dedicated work ethic and his constant belief in our head coaches and our student athletes.

Dave retired from teaching at Arrowhead in 2010. Arrowhead Basketball is grateful that Dave chooses to continue to coach our basketball athletes!
